According to UNESCO, the World Heritage elements must display outstanding universal value, specifically intangible ones. These stand as the basis of any nomination to the UNESCO list. The cultural and natural significance of every element is exceptional. It transcends boundaries and is of shared importance. One could say that heritage protection shows a conservative approach toward universal values. There is a great variety of religious elements that represent the different Christian traditions of the world. Some offer properties that can be found in many countries worldwide, while others are unique and local. In her lecture, Professor Lukaszewska-Haberkowa proposes an interpretation of Christian values in UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. Exceptional and universal values are expressed in the cultural elements presented here to explain their specific meaning and importance.
